Lisbon producer Tony Banks is well known for his work with Scottish rave pioneers In Order To Survive and Tallahasi. For this exclusive collaboration with Dublin based musician Jonny Trunks he’s got a lot to offer. The opening track is a ragged patchwork of stabs, loops and percussive noise, built around a few sounds coming from inside a metal cylinder. “Sonic Powered” follows, an abstract drone lurching around inside a tube. “What’s My Name” is more of the same, like a drone with more punch and flutter, but more of the same weirdness. “Thou Shalt Not Love” sounds like a broken spirit, but bursts into a gong bath of percussive sounds. “Caveman Jack” opens with a rough, distorted guitar loop, followed by a percussive drum machine bleeps and a percussive voice crooning some random lines. “Chalmers” comes across more like a lava lamp, then bursts into a gong bath of percussive sounds. “Mushroom Hill” is a percussive riff on a drone, then some percussive drum machine bleeps and bleats. “Little Steven” closes with a drone with a few drops of liquid noise, before it proceeds into a piece of abstract noise.
