In the mid-1970s, Indian conductor Balvinder Doshi travelled to Javanese countries without his usual accompaniment, and recorded dialogues with local communities in the local language of the Javanese of the time (Kilchok). Robinson came to Javanese countries in the early 1980s, and has been active for many years.

His output on Balvinder Doshi’s language recordings is extensive and varied. His contributions in the collection of six dialogues (starting with silent film no. 598) include the Javanese language (the only other language he knew), and a number of Balvinder Doshi terms and phrases, as well as a number of Blander Doshi transliterations. The recordings are in three volumes, moving in and out of the language. In the films, Doshi is accompanied by Balvinder Doshi’s oboe, cello and flute, while in his dialogue with local communities in the local language he is accompanied by the local flute, cello and oboe.
