Fabrizio Bosetti & Daniel Girolamo Ensemble
The Embodiment Of Progressive Art

A music box. A giant electronic apparatus. A world of possibilities. These words are used to describe the world of electronic music produced by Fabrizio Bosetti and Daniel Girolamo, a duo from northern Italy who use a variety of components to create music that both flaunts and is at times strangely compelling.

Two instruments combine to create the world of “The Embodiment Of Progressive Art”, a performance space in the heart of Rome composed of a series of wind instruments, string instruments, piano, vibraphone, vibraphone and percussion. Each of the instruments is a distinct instrument of its own, but they are joined together into a single entity to create a continuous, immersive song. The music is a sustained pulse that builds and changes with the seasons, with notes and signatures that are both musical and figurative.

The two have combined their love of modernist movements and technology in a way that is both lyrical and playful. They write songs that are based on technologies that they either understand or can be suggested to be connected to them, and they have a tendency to use words that rhyme with each other, or that are likely to conflict with each other. In the case of “Themes Of Light”, they use the word tear to refer to the textures, colors and sounds of the wind instruments. The result is a wide-ranging, often silly, song that is both playful and reflective.
